Tulsa road decline
I write to draw attention to the deplorable state of Main Tulsa Road, Lalazar, Rawalpindi. As residents for over five decades, my family and I are disheartened by its decline due to neglect and unchecked commercialisation. A surge of commercial outlets has disrupted the area, undermining residents’ privacy and safety. The unregulated commercial activity has led to congestion and insecurity, violating protections guaranteed to residential zones under the law.
Adding to these concerns is the persistent issue of utility digging and other installations without proper resurfacing of the road. This results in damaged, unsafe surfaces for vehicles and pedestrians. Then there is the poor street lighting, which makes the area particularly unsafe at night and increases the risk of accidents and crime. I urge the concerned authorities to take immediate corrective measures by resurfacing the road, regulating commercial activity and restoring proper street lighting.
