JI to host digital youth summit tomorrow
Islamabad : Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) is set to host Pakistan’s largest-ever Digital Youth Summit at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad this Sunday.
Announcing the event at a press conference on Friday, JI Information Secretary Shakil Ahmed Turabi and Head of the JI Media Cell Salman Sheikh shared key details about the summit and its national significance.
Turabi said the summit will feature a keynote address by JI Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, who is expected to unveil a comprehensive roadmap for the youth of Pakistan.
So far, over 12,000 young men and women have registered for the event, with more than 50 percent of them being female. Organizers have urged all registered participants to ensure their attendance at the summit.
Describing it as a historic and first-of-its-kind digital event, Salman Sheikh said the primary aim is to promote a positive national narrative and empower Pakistani youth in the digital age.
“Youth are being deliberately pushed toward hopelessness and unproductive pursuits. Through this summit, we aim to counter that trend by equipping the younger generation to use digital platforms responsibly and productively,” Sheikh stated.
He emphasized that in recent times, social media has blurred the lines between political opposition and anti-state rhetoric, creating confusion and polarization. The summit will address these critical challenges by fostering dialogue and promoting awareness on the responsible use of digital tools.
