Residents of Póstal and Telegraph Colony Gizri are grappling with worsening water shortages, sewage contamination, and loadshedding, causing significant distress.
Addressing a community meeting organized by locals, Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) Vice Chairman Najeeb Wali expressed support for the residents and assured them of the board’s commitment to resolving these pressing issues.
The meeting was attended by a large number of residents, along with prominent local mosque leaders, including Allama Maulana Qari Shahid of Jamia Masjid Falah and Allama Maulana Dr Subhat Khan Kohati of the Masjid Bab-e-Rehmat. The prayers leaders highlighted the critical issue of sewage mixing with water in supply lines, rendering the water unusable due to foul odor and making it impossible for residents to perform ablutions.
Community representatives, including Muhammad Ibrahim, Mumtaz Shah, Allama Dr Subhat Khan, and Qari Shahid, briefed Wali on the residents’ grievances. The meeting noted that PPP Adviser on Katchi Abadis Najmi Alam recently visited the colony and assured residents that their concerns would be addressed.
