A judicial magistrate has ordered the Preedy SHO to take immediate action for removal of all unauthorised carts, encroachments and obstructions from Daudpota Road in the Saddar area.
The order came on an application filed by Advocate Imran Ali, who named the South District deputy commissioner, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Anti-Encroachment Cell director, SSP South and SHO Preedy as respondents.
The applicant stated that a number of pushcarts and encroachments had unlawfully occupied the public road in the Garden area, falling within the jurisdiction of the Preedy police station.
He said encroachments and unauthorized carts were causing serious obstruction to the free flow of traffic and pedestrian movement, creating nuisance and posing a risk to public safety and convenience. He pleaded with the court to order the respondents to remove all these encroachments from the road.
The magistrate noted that a report received from the Preedy police admitted the version of the applicant and said FIRs had been lodged against illegal and unauthorized cart dealers. He, therefore, directed the Preedy SHO to take immediate action to remove all unauthorized carts, encroachments, and obstructions from Daudpota Road, particularly in the Garden area. The magistrate instructed the SHO to ensure that such encroachments do not appear again and submit a compliance report before July 30.
