Blood donors termed true heroes
PESHAWAR: Speakers at a ceremony termed the blood donors true heroes, as a single bag of donated blood can save up to three lives.
The ceremony was arranged at Frontier Foundation on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, said a press release issued here on Monday.The communication said Frontier Foundation Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem, Administrator Dr Fakhar Zaman, and others and a large number of young blood donors were present at the event.
He paid tribute to all those who voluntarily donate blood, calling them true heroes performing the noble duty of saving human lives. “A single bag of donated blood can save up to three lives,” he pointed out.
Dr Fakhar Zaman said that blood donation was a profound expression of human compassion and a shining example of brotherhood.He noted that volunteers, particularly young people, play a vital role in saving the lives of those in need, and their spirit serves as an inspiration for others in society.Later, the donors donated blood for children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, and other blood disorders.
