Campaign launched against five diseases in Multan

MULTAN: On the instructions of the Punjab government, a campaign has been launched to prevent deadly diseases, including measles, in Multan district from Monday.Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu inaugurated the vaccination campaign at the Health Department office.

The City District Administration also took out an awareness rally under the leadership of the DC regarding immunization. Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu also administered vitamin drops to the children and distributed gifts to eth children.

The deputy commissioner said that a special vaccination campaign would continue from June 16 to July 15. The children under the age of five years would be vaccinated against five deadly diseases. He told that additional field teams had been formed to make the immunization campaign successful.

MAN KILLED, 11 INJURED IN ACCIDENT: A man was killed while 11 others sustained injuries in an accident on Motorway M-4 near Budhla Road here on Monday.

Reportedly, a bus was carrying passengers to Rajanpur from Faisalabad when it collided with a trailer on the Motorway M-4. As a result, one unidentified passenger died on the spot while 11 others, including Faraz, Shan Zahra, M Jibreel, Abdul Jabbar, Ismail, Parvaiz, Zahid, Muhammad, Zohan, Ayan and Zunair. The injured were rushed to a hospital.

NATIONAL CIVIL SOCIETY CONVENTION: Punjab Ombudsperson Nabila Hakim Ali has said that success always comes when one works with a positive spirit and desire for change.

She was addressing the National Civil Society Convention 2025 held at the University Law College, Multan here on Monday. She said that after completing her four-year tenure, she was satisfied that she had done more than enough for women’s rights. She told that 4,650 complaints of harassment were received during four years, out of which, only 50 were currently under investigation while all other complaints had been redressed.

Nabila Hakim Ali said that the practice of depriving women of inherited property had been prevalent in our country for a long time. She said that during the past four years, Rs 1,200 billion of inherited property was given to women.
