LAHORE:A productive and forward-looking meeting was held at the Head Office of the Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA), Lahore, between Chairperson Hina Pervaiz Butt and Director General Kalsoom Saqib with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Madiha Fareed (Provincial Human Rights Officer), Sadia Bangash (Project Analyst), and Rida Zehra Rizvi (Project Officer).
The discussion centered around collaborative strategies to promote gender equality, safeguard women's rights, and enhance protection mechanisms across Punjab. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to joint action and policy support aimed at empowering women, especially those in vulnerable communities.
Chairperson Hina Pervaiz Butt appreciated UNDP’s continued support and emphasised the need for capacity-building, institutional strengthening, and public awareness campaigns to ensure effective implementation of pro-women laws and initiatives. The DG PWPA also briefed the delegation on the Authority’s operational model, field outreach, and current programs being carried out in collaboration with the Punjab Government under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
