LWMC intensifies efforts to ensure clean environment on Eid

LAHORE:The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), in preparation for Eid-ul-Azha, has intensified emergency visits across the city to ensure a clean environment in every street.

As part of the pre-Eid cleanliness drive, LWMC CEO Babar Sahib Din made a surprise visit to Data Ganj Bakhsh Town, where he inspected sanitation arrangements in key areas such as Krishan Nagar, Sant Nagar, and Islampura.

He reviewed ongoing cleanliness operations in streets, markets, and on major roads, ensuring that all measures are in place before the Eid. LWMC CEO met with sanitation workers on duty and encouraged them for their hard work. He directed cleaning operations teams to immediately carry out road scraping to remove dirt, and ordered comprehensive sweeping and washing of U-turns, bus stops, and pedestrian bridges across the city before Eid.

CEO Babar Sahib Din also visited Data Darbar, Ravi Road, and Azadi Flyover, and engaged with residents and shopkeepers in Baba Ground, Abdali Road, and Sanda Road to gather feedback on the cleanliness arrangements. Shopkeepers found littering were issued warnings, and instructed to collect wrappers and hand them over to the sanitation staff. Residents expressed satisfaction with the improved cleanliness measures, stating significant progress compared to previous years.

LWMC CEO reaffirmed that providing the citizens with a clean and healthy environment remains a top priority. He urged to citizens to support LWMC teams in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.
