Cabinet Committee orders strict security on Eid
LAHORE:The Cabinet Committee meeting has directed for ensuring strict security arrangements on Eidul Azha. The 29th meeting of the SCCLO was held in the Home Department under the chairmanship of Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the law and order situation across the province was taken in the context of Eidul Azha. Secretary Home Punjab Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and law enforcement agencies gave a briefing.
The meeting directed for ensuring strict security arrangements on the occasion of Eidul Azha. The cabinet committee extended the deployment of Rangers in Mianwali. The meeting was briefed about the working of the Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority.
Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique, while expressing his views on the occasion, said that there is a complete ban on the collection of sacrificial hides by banned organisations in Punjab.
District Intelligence Committee meetings were held in all districts regarding Eidul Azha. No banned organisation will be allowed to put up banners and boards for sacrificial skins. Meetings are ongoing with scholars of different schools of thought to establish peace on the occasion of Eid.
Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan has said that strict monitoring of banned organisations will be done regarding the collection of sacrificial hides. Punjab Home Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, Additional IG Imran, Special Secretary Home Fazal ur Rehman, CTD, Special Branch and officials from related institutions attended the meeting. Commissioners, DCs, RPOs and DPOs from all over Punjab attended the meeting through video link. Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman participated in the meeting through video link. Advocate General Punjab M Amjad Pervez also attended the meeting.
