Govt giving top priority to nurturing young talent: minister

LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Labour, Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has said that the Punjab government is giving top priority to nurturing young talent, and to that end, a state-of-the-art sports complex is being established at Mian Channu in recognition of Arshad Nadeem’s great services for the country. This facility will provide quality training and infrastructure to young athletes at the grassroots level.

Faisal Khokhar while extending heartfelt congratulations to Arshad Nadeem for winning the javelin throw final at the Asian Athletics Championship, said that once again, Arshad has brought immense pride to Pakistan on the international stage. This remarkable achievement is a moment of great honour for the entire nation.

He emphasised that the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to promote sports are now bearing fruit. Under the Chief Minister’s visionary leadership, athletes from Punjab are raising Pakistan’s flag at international arenas. He reiterated that the Punjab government is committed to advancing sports development as a top priority, and Arshad’s success at Asian Athletics Championship is a continuation of that mission.

Faisal Khokhar hailed Arshad Nadeem as a ‘true hero of Pakistan’, stating that his hard work, determination, and commitment serve as an inspiration for young athletes across the country. He also acknowledged the vital role played by the Sports Board Punjab in great success of Arshad at international level.
