WCLA holds event to celebrate Pak, Korea cultural tapestries

LAHORE : The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) Saturday in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea organised an evening that celebrated the rich cultural tapestries of Korea and Pakistan.

The event was organised at the historic Picture Wall in Lahore Fort. The objective of the Korea-Pakistan Culture Night was to foster cultural exchange and tourism, bringing together diverse communities to celebrate the spirit of friendship between the two countries.

The event provided an opportunity to audience to experience traditions of both cultures.

The evening featured remarkable performances, including the Pansori (Ms Sumi Pang), Folk Song (Haranga), Mr Sung Jae Lee on Daegeum as soloist, and a Duo Kathak performance by Zakaria Iqbal and Ms Jessica. Adding to the festive spirit were the mesmerizing performances by the Madhulal Dhamal Group and a soulful Bansuri and Tabla duet by Bilal Sabir and Jahaniyan Khan.

Dr Asif Tufail, Director General of WCLA, stated, “This event was a wonderful opportunity to bring together the shared heritage of Pakistan and Korea. It symbolized our commitment to fostering mutual understanding and appreciation between our cultures, and we were delighted to welcome everyone to this memorable evening.”
