Six sacrificial animal markets established in City
LAHORE : The Lahore District Administration has established markets for sacrificial animals at six locations across the city, ensuring a well-organised buying and selling process of sacrificial animals.
Measures have been put in place to improve cleanliness, water supply, parking, and other essential facilities for traders and buyers.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza conducted a detailed visit to Kaccha Bakr Mandi where Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and Assistant Commissioner Nishtar Town provided a detailed briefing.
DC Lahore personally assessed the available facilities and issued directives for further improvements to enhance market operations. The district administration has instructed the Punjab Cattle Market Company (PCMC) to ensure uninterrupted provision of services such as water, designated shelters, and parking solutions for traders and visitors.
DC Lahore emphasised that priority will be given to maintaining the markets efficiently, ensuring a seamless buying and selling experience for all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the Lahore District Administration has implemented effective measures to improve sanitation, sewerage management, and remove encroachments from across the city.
During a detailed visit to Tehsil Nishtar, DC Lahore personally inspected the cleanliness and drainage conditions in areas like Gajjumatta and Kaccha. Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Shahid Abbas Kathia and Assistant Commissioner Nishtar M Saleem Asi provided a briefing on administrative actions.
The district administration has instructed the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) to improve waste disposal operations, ensuring daily removal of solid waste to designated dumping sites. The "Clean Lahore Mission" includes a structured plan to rid the city of encroachments, relocating informal settlements and livestock from residential areas.
DC Lahore reaffirmed his commitment to making Lahore a cleaner and well organised city by utilising all available resources. He emphasised that the sanitation and municipal improvements will continue to ensure convenience for citizens and maintain an aesthetically appealing urban environment.
