LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Labour, Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has directed the officials concerned to ensure transparency and merit in the Phase-II of the Chief Minister Internship Programme. He issued these directions while presiding over a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday to review the progress and planning of the internship initiative.

The meeting was attended by Youth Affairs Punjab DG Khizar Afzaal Ch, Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali, PITB DG Sajid Latif, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Director Youth Affairs Syed Omair Hasan, and other senior officials.

The CM Internship Programme Phase-II is poised to become a cornerstone of youth development in Punjab, promising practical experience, capacity building, and empowerment for the province’s aspiring professionals. The participants discussed ways to enhance the effectiveness of this programme, ensuring it provides meaningful opportunities for young individuals across the province.

Addressing the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of registering reputable companies and institutions beforehand to ensure that interns receive high-quality, hands-on experience in both public and private sectors. He also announced a significant increase in the internship stipend from Rs25,000 to Rs60,000 per month, and confirmed the age limit for applicants at 28 years. Faisal Khokhar emphasised that youth empowerment is in accordance with the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister. He stated that lessons have been learned from the first phase of the programme, and the flaws identified will be rectified.
