Bike impounded with 313 e-challans, Rs335,300 fine
LAHORE:Traffic police have launched a major crackdown on e-challan defaulters, targeting the top 1,000 vehicles with unpaid fines across the city.
Twelve special recovery teams have been deployed, successfully seizing 300 vehicles so far and collecting overdue fines from their owners. In a shocking case, a motorcycle with a staggering 313 e-challans and a fine of Rs335,300 was seized—the highest recorded defaulter. Authorities are also visiting homes and offices of offenders to ensure recovery of long-pending dues. The operation continues as part of a citywide effort to enforce traffic discipline and recover government revenue.
14 die on road in 24 hours
The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,186 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 14 people died, whereas 1,372 were injured. Out of these, 560 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals.
