Saif says KP Sehat Card now covers costly liver, other transplants
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Advisor for Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif on Saturday said that the provincial government had added four more complex and expensive treatments to the Sehat Card Plus programme.
“Liver, kidney and bone marrow transplants and hearing aid implantation procedures would now be provided completely free of charge under the Sehat Card benefits,” said a handout quoting him as saying.
He said that an Outpatient Department pilot project would soon be launched in district Mardan and following its success, OPD services would also be expanded to all panel hospitals across the province.
Under the Sehat Card Plus programme, he said free healthcare services were being provided to 10.6 million families across the province. Since 2016, more than 4.2 million people have benefited from the programme with a total expenditure of Rs108 billion.
Barrister Saif said that residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were receiving free healthcare services in 753 panel hospitals across the country in line with the vision of Imran Khan.
The scope of the Sehat Card, he added, would soon be further expanded to include treatment for additional diseases. For information regarding the Sehat Card, citizens can contact the toll-free number 0800-89898 at any time.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and in accordance with Imran Khan’s vision, work on welfare projects was progressing rapidly.
The Sehat Card is the flagship initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government making it the only province in the country to provide completely free healthcare services to its citizens.
