PU awards PhD degrees to 10 scholars: Punjab University (PU) has awarded PhD degrees to 10 of its scholars.

According to details, Imran Ali has been awarded PhD degree in the subject of Persian, M Iqbal Shah in Philosophy, Kalsum Riaz in Arabic, Tabassum Khalid in Education, Gao Xin in History, Syed Javed Hussain in Geography, Gulshan Zaidi in Molecular Biology and Forensic Sciences, Humaira Aslam in Urdu, Sajida Rehman in Arabic and Azeem Akbar in Information Management.

KC donates 100 plants to UET

Kinnaird College for Women, under the Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, donated 100 plants to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore as part of the Prime Minister’s Green Youth Movement initiative.

According to a press release, environmental engineer Ms Qurat Ul Ain, adviser to both GYM Club and Environment and Horticulture Society (EHS) at UET Lahore, attended the event, emphasising collaboration for environmental sustainability. The event also marked the completion of the 'Green Wall' project at UET Lahore, reinforcing efforts to promote eco-friendly practices.

White coat ceremony

Principal of Ameer Uddin Medical College, Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar has emphasised that the white coat is a symbol of the sanctity of the medical profession.

He urged future doctors to make service to humanity their core value, win hearts through compassion and uphold the honour of the white coat. He expressed these views while addressing the first-year students of the MBBS session 2025–29 during the white coat and oath-taking ceremony held at Lahore General Hospital. The event was attended by Executive Director of Punjab Institute of Neurosciences Prof Asif Bashir, Head of the Department of Surgery Prof Farooq Afzal, Prof Hussain Ahmad Khakan, Prof Nudrat Suhail, MS Dr Faryad Hussain and Dr Abdul Aziz, along with the students' parents.

Talking on this occasion, Prof Farooq Afzal, PINS ED Prof Asif Bashir and other faculty members advised the aspiring doctors to adhere strictly to medical ethics.
