India to send multi-party delegations for diplomatic outreach

India short-listed over 30 parliamentarians who will be leaving for various capitals to brief their stance against Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: After its utter failure in attaining diplomatic support from any noteworthy country on its aggression against Pakistan, New Delhi has announced to dispatch its delegations to different countries.

The delegations would comprise members of the parliament who will dash to different countries for mustering their support for Indian position.

Well-placed sources told The News/Jang here that Indian government has short-listed more than 30 members of parliament who will be leaving for various capitals to brief their government’s position against Pakistan. The members belonging to the major opposition party Indian Congress is also on board with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration in its mission.

The sources said some former ministers would lead the delegations of MPs from different parties to a cluster of countries across the world. The delegations will visit different countries for a period of 10 days. The MPs will visit different blocs of countries, as earmarked by the government.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will brief the MPs before they depart. Among the parties whose MPs will be part of the delegation are the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress, Trinamool Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar.
