Rs5m theft case solved; two suspects arrested

LAHORE:Naulakha investigation police on Monday arrested two suspects and solved a case of theft of Rs5 million industrial tools.

The police team led by SP City (investigation) detained container driver Abdul Waheed and his accomplice Asif and recovered power tools, drill machines, cutter blades, and various vehicle spare parts, from them. DIG Zeeshan Raza lauded the police efforts. The SP in a statement assured that all recovered items would be returned to their rightful owner.

212 POs, other outlaws arrested in search operations

Police conducted 412 search, sweep and combing operations across the province including Lahore during the last 24 hours. In these operations, 14,219 suspicious individuals were checked and interrogated, while 52 suspicious persons were taken into custody. As many as 212 proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, 37 court absconders and 45 habitual criminals were arrested. A large quantity of illegal weapons and bullets were also recovered from the possession of criminals and suspicious individuals. During operations against criminal elements, one criminal was neutralised and five were arrested in injured condition. Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar said in order to hold terrorists and anti-state elements accountable, search, sweep and combing operations must continue.

Two robbery suspects held

Kahna Police Monday arrested two members of Shahid gang involved in multiple street robbery incidents. According to police, accused Javed and Shahid were arrested from a private town area. The police recovered two stolen motorcycles and a pistol from their possession. The accused are reportedly involved in multiple armed robberies.
