Ministry pushes for non-formal education, systemic reforms
Islamabad:In order to address education gaps and promote inclusive learning opportunities, the federal education ministry called a high-level meeting here and discussed ways to strengthen the non-formal education sector.
Education Secretary Nadeem Mahbub chaired the meeting, which focused on enhancing quality standards, increasing access for out-of-school children, improving teacher training and fostering long-term sustainability through corporate social responsibility partnerships. The participants emphasised that those reforms were critical to achieving universal literacy and educational equity.
The representatives of the National Commission for Human Development, the Project Coordination Unit at the education ministry, the Directorate General of Basic Education Community Schools, the National Education Foundation and the Pakistan Institute of Education promised to collaborate to roll out innovative models of learning and skill development for marginalised populations.
Meanwhile, Parliamentary Secretary for Education Farah Naz Akbar met with education minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to discuss ongoing education reforms and strategies. They said the government was committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable and high-quality education system across all tiers.
