KARACHI: The legal fraternity observed a complete strike at the City Courts and Malir district courts on Friday in solidarity with the country’s armed forces and the families of those martyred or injured in Indian strikes.
The Pakistan Bar Council had announced a nationwide strike and urged all the bar associations across the country to hold general body meetings, pass resolutions and take out rallies in solidarity and support of the Pakistan Army and to condemn the Indian aggression and brutalities.
In response to the call, legal work remained suspended at the City Courts, the city’s largest judicial complex, as well as at the Malir district courts. The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) convened a general body meeting at its office’s Shaheed Ameer Hyder Shah Shade, where its president, Amir Nawaz Warraich, general secretary Rehman Korai and others addressed members of the bar. They condemned the unprovoked and cowardly attack by Indian forces on Pakistani soil, which led to the loss of lives of innocent civilian.
