‘Vital changes being made in Sports Board rules’

LAHORE:Some effective and vital changes are being brought in the rules and regulations of Sports Board Punjab for improving the working of department and making the future of sports bright in the province.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial said this while presiding over an important meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Wednesday. DG Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Additional Secretary Mian Usman Ali, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem and other officials participated in the meeting. DG Sports Punjab briefed the meeting about the new rules and regulations of Sports Board Punjab. Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Sial said that multiple sports committees will be formed at tehsil, district and divisional level to improve the sports and administrative affairs in all parts of the province. “The Audit Committee and Human Resource (HR) Committee will also be constituted for ensuring transparency in the financial affairs of the department”.

Muzaffar Sial said that an effective Monitoring Cell will be established for keeping an eye on sports facilities and their working across the province. “Besides this, new lease laws will also be introduced to ensure financial stability in Sports Board Punjab”. He further said that Sports Board Punjab is being transformed into a comprehensive and effective department for the development of sports culture among the younger generation throughout the Punjab province.

Meanwhile, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Additional Secretary Mian Usman Ali and all the officers of Sports Board Punjab condemned India's cowardly attack on Pakistan.

Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry while chairing a meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday termed the Indian attack shameful. 'The whole nation is united against India which launched a cowardly attack in the darkness of night.'

Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab said that Pakistan Army has responded timely and strongly to the coward attack of enemy. 'We are proud that the Defence of Pakistan is impregnable. The entire nation is just like a strong wall to protect the national integrity.'
