Four doctors removed, one suspended over misconduct

LAHORE:Taking strict action against five medical officers for misconduct, breach of discipline and disruption of medical services in government teaching hospitals, the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education has dismissed four medical officers and suspended one.

In this regard, a letter has been written by Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education to the President of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) Islamabad for cancellation of permanent practicing licences of five medical officers.

According to the details, the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education has suspended medical officer of Services Institute of Medical Sciences Dr Salman Haseeb with a show cause notice and dismissed Lahore General Hospital Medical Officer Dr M Amir Bashir, and three medical officers of Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital Sargodha Dr M Asjad Saleem, Dr Usama bin Saeed and Dr Wajid Ali from their jobs. Earlier, a letter has been written to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to cancel the permanent practicing licenses of eight other medical officers.
