BISEM chairman defends arranging SSC practical exam earlier
Intermediate students who were previously in preparation have started returning to boarding houses for their examinations
MARDAN: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEM) Board, Mardan Chairman Jahanzed Khan on Friday defended his decision to conduct the practical exam for Fazl-e-Haq College students ahead of schedule for the Matriculation examination.
The practical examination was to start on the 2nd of May. However, the board chairman conducted the practical examination of Fazl-e-Haq College on 29th April after receiving a written application from Ejaz Ahmad Khan, headmaster of the senior school. But this step triggered a campaign against the board chairman on social media.
However, when this correspondent contacted board Chairman Jahanzed Khan, he said that the Fazl-e-Haq College had submitted an application to the board and he used his powers and arranged the practical examination earlier on April 29.
It was stated in the application that the Fazl-e-Haq College Mardan is a residential institution, and currently, boarders’ boys and girls appearing in the Matric Annual Examination
(Annual-I) are residing in the college boarding houses. As the Intermediate examinations are scheduled to commence from the 7th of May,
The Intermediate students who were previously in preparation have started returning to the boarding houses for their examinations.
It was stated that this situation was creating difficulty in accommodating both Metric and Intermediate students simultaneously, especially as new admissions for other classes have also been made.
The letter said that in light of this situation, the institution intended to arrange for the early departure of Matric students after the completion of their written exams to make sufficient accommodation available for Intermediate students.
It said the Matriculation examinations were scheduled to end on 28th April. Therefore, it was requested that the board conduct the practical examinations of all Matriculation students (boys and girls) immediately after the conclusion of the written papers, preferably within one or two days, at the college.
The letter said that this would allow us to facilitate the smooth transition and accommodation of Intermediate students during their exam session.
