Minister irks at poor cleanliness conditions

LAHORE:On Friday, Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi visited Lahore Railway Station and expressed strong dissatisfaction with the poor cleanliness and hygiene conditions. He suspended Divisional Medical Officer Dr Saima Mumtaz and reprimanded the Station Master for widespread absenteeism among employees.
The minister authorised provincial food authorities to conduct raids on railway premises to ensure compliance with standards. During his visit, he walked from the station to the washing line, ordering all staff residing in railway quarters to return to duty immediately. Abbasi also announced that railway corruption cases would be referred to the FIA for thorough investigation.
