Iesco, Met deptt sign agreement for cooperation
Islamabad:Timely and accurate determination of electricity demand and then generation of electricity according to demand can ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the esteemed consumers and a link in this chain is a formal agreement to ensure cooperation between Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) and Pakistan Meteorological Department, which was signed by the heads of both institutions.
Iesco Chief Executive Muhammad Naeem Jan said that under this agreement, the Pakistan Meteorological Department will provide 3 to 6-day weather forecasts in IESCO’s operational areas, due to which Iesco will be able to provide electricity demand to the relevant entities in a better way, keeping in mind the weather conditions. Especially during extreme weather, the availability of electricity according to demand will control load management and ensure uninterrupted power supply, especially when Iesco is migrating to state-of-the-art technology Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).
