PPP an ally of system, not government: Chan
LAHORE:Pakistan People's Party Central Secretary Information Nadeem Afzal Chan said that we are allies of the system, not the government and the focus of the PPP is the supremacy of the Constitution and democracy.
He stated this while answering the questions of the journalists at the party Central Secretariat here on Monday. Shahzad Saeed Cheema, Rana Jawad, Mian Ayub, Faiza Malik, Nayab Jan, Nasira Kafeel, Azim Hafeez, Sabt Hassan, Shahryar Chaudhry and Mufti Abid Hussain were also present on this occasion.
In response to a question, Chan said that the Election Commission should be genuine and electoral reforms should also be carried out. He emphasised that the opposition to the PPP in Punjab has been weakened significantly. If we managed to create our narrative, the PPP will get stronger and will emerge as a formidable force in Punjab.
Chan said, “Our first priority is to prove that why the PPP is important for the country and institutions. We are not bound or accountable to anyone but we will continue to talk about public issues”. He said that the PPP is a victim of the corrupt system, but even then many anti-state things are stalled because of the PPP.
Chan acknowledged the role of Sindh for raising the issue of canals. He said that underground drinking water of several cities, including Faisalabad, Sargodha and Lahore is not healthy. He said that water has also great significance for the growth of most of the crops.
It is a fact that water played a vital role in the sufficient production of crops and it has been observed that many crops failed to yield satisfactory production only due to less quantity of water.
