Despite growing awareness globally, many in our country still view seeking therapy as a sign of weakness or something to be ashamed of. Mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety and trauma are real and affect people from all walks of life. Unfortunately, due to societal pressure and lack of understanding, individuals are often forced to suffer in silence rather than seek professional help.
This not only worsens their condition but also contributes to a growing mental health crisis in the country. Just as we visit doctors for physical ailments, we must also learn to value mental health care without judgment. We need awareness campaigns, educational programmes and open discussions to dismantle the myths around therapy.
