UET excels in PinTech Expo
LAHORE:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) has secured first place in Mechatronics and Biomedical disciplines, while earning second place in Civil Engineering in the project competitions under the "PinTech Expo" competitions.
The competitions were organized through the joint collaboration of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and the Higher Education Department (HED). Students from various universities and colleges showcased their creative and technical projects, aimed at strengthening the link between academia and industry. Punjab’s Federal Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, awarded cheques to UET Vice Chancellor Dr Shahid Munir and the winning team. Projects securing first position in each category were awarded Rs. 500,000, while second-place winners received Rs. 200,000. Dr Shahid Munir congratulated the successful students and their supervisors, appreciating their efforts. He emphasized that such competitions nurture students’ creative abilities and provide them with direct exposure to industry. A total of 48 universities and 14 colleges from across Punjab participated in the PinTech Expo, with over 640 projects on display.
