ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and PTI senior leader Omar Ayub Khan Monday denied the news of his resignation, saying a politician should be ready for elections and death at all times.
He also slammed Sher Afzal Marwat for criticising of Aleema Khan and Bushra Bibi. He was talking to a group of reporters at the Islamabad High Court.
The opposition leader said, “we are part of the state; the definition of the state that these people give is completely different; I tell the intellectually blind to study the Constitution and then you will understand what a state is’. About reports of possibility of any deal, he maintained that his leader neither accepts any ‘relaxation nor a deal’. Regarding allegations of ousted party leader Sher Afzal Marwat, he clarified that (Imran’s sister) Aleema Khan and Bushra Bibi had nothing to do with politics.
He also made it clear that Marwat’s criticism of the two ladies was unjustified, who had recently blamed Aleema for a social media show against him. Despite court orders, he lamented, Imran’s family members were not being allowed to meet him for several weeks and his talk with his sons also could not be arranged.
He noted that the contempt of court case for not following the Islamabad High Court orders on permitting meeting with Imran Khan could not be fixed for hearing while the petition was filed two days ago.
