Lesco lineman attacked, injured by electricity defaulters

LAHORE:A lineman from the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) was seriously injured after being attacked by defaulting customers in the Sabzazar area.

According to police reports, the incident occurred near a hotel, where Adnan, a lineman from Lesco’s Saidpur Sub-Division, went to recover outstanding electricity dues amounting to over Rs70,000.

The situation escalated when Adnan approached the hotel management for payment. A heated argument broke out, during which the hotel staff members reportedly assaulted him. In the course of the altercation, one of the hotel’s employees allegedly stabbed Adnan.

Eyewitnesses alerted emergency services, and the injured lineman was taken to hospital. His condition is reported to be serious but stable.

Worker dies after falling off third floor of mosque

A worker lost his life after falling off the third floor of an under-construction section of a mosque in Johar Town on Wednesday. According to police and eyewitness reports, 18-year-old Ali Raza was sitting on a window ledge while listening to a phone call. It is believed that he fell asleep during the call and accidentally fell off the height and died on the spot. Locals alerted the Rescue teams who arrived at the scene, but Ali Raza was pronounced dead on the spot.

Police handed body over to the deceased’s family.

Girl recovered; kidnapper arrested Police recovered a 14-year-old American national girl who was kidnapped from the Sundar area.

The recovery operation was carried out in Jhang district, where the accused was also apprehended. According to police officials, the mother of the girl ‘F’ got registered a kidnapping case at the Sundar Police Station. Acting on the complaint, the Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit (SSOIU) of Sundar police launched investigation.

The suspect, identified as Hassan, had allegedly lured the girl under false pretense before taking her with him to Jhang. The police traced their location and conducted a targeted operation to safely rescue the victim. The accused Hassan was arrested and the girl was reunited with her parents.
