Maryam meets Turkish VP Yilmaz

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz met Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz on Sunday.

“Turkiye and Pakistan are two brothers,” said CM Maryam Nawaz in her meeting with the Turkish Vice President Yilmaz on the sidelines of Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 conference, in order to discuss matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye.

They agreed to promote joint educational projects and economic partnership between the two countries, and discussed joint efforts to enhance bilateral trade, education and skill development. They also discussed cooperation in the exchange of skilled workforce and global skill mapping.

Chief minister apprised Turkish vice president of her plans for education and skill development in Punjab province. She conveyed him a message of good wishes from former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Turkish vice president thanked chief minister for attending Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025. She also thanked Yilmaz for inviting her to the conference, and invited him to visit Punjab at his convenience.

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz attended a cultural show at Antalya Diplomacy Forum on the invitation of Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan. She visited different stalls along with Turkish First Lady, inspected Turkish costumes and other cultural items, and showed keen interest in them.

Emine Erdogan briefed chief minister about different Turkish costumes and other items. Organizers of the cultural show talked to Chief Minister Maryam and thanked her on her arrival.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed a deep sense of grief and sorrow over the death of unique actor Javed ‘Kaudu’. She offered condolences and extended her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
