More than 10,000 students take IT test conducted by non-profit
The Saylani Welfare International Trust held a mega IT test at its PAF branch on Sharea Faisal on Sunday. It was divided into separate sessions for male and female participants, with the morning shift exclusively dedicated to female candidates.
Female students took their tests in multiple sessions from 10am to noon, with the participation limited to pre-registered candidates carrying valid admit cards. Over 4,000 female students appeared for the test.
The tests for male students began at noon and continued until 6pm. According to Saylani officials, approximately 6,500 male candidates participated in the afternoon session. The results will be announced in the coming days through Saylani’s official social media platforms.
Wajidullah, administrator of the Saylani Mass IT Programme, said admission forms for the test were made available through the organisation’s social media channels. Around 12,000 students submitted the admission forms, including more than 4,500 female candidates.
The top 7,000 successful candidates will be enrolled in various IT courses offered at Saylani’s training centres. These courses include artificial intelligence, web designing, app hybrid development, cybersecurity, and cloud native computing.
The training centres are located in areas such as Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Paposh Nagar, New Karachi, Aliabad, the Zaitoon Ashraf IT Park, Saylani’s Bahadurabad head office, and Numaish. The course durations range from four to eight months. Upon completion, the students will have the opportunity to generate income through freelancing or by launching their startups.
The testing process, which began at 9am, concluded successfully at 6pm, marking a significant milestone in Saylani’s mission to empower youth through IT education. It is worth noting that the IT test process continued simultaneously in Karachi and Hyderabad. Over 6,000 students registered for the admission test in Hyderabad.
Additionally, three new IT centres have been established in Hyderabad, and one in Karachi. Saylani Welfare is committed to equipping individuals from all segments of society with modern education.
