Strategic reset
This letter refers to the editorial ‘Call from the US’ (April 9, 2025). As much as it is a matter of reassurance, Pakistan should avail this opportunity to restart the US relationship on strategic grounds and step away from transactional relations. To ensure long-term mutual benefits, Pakistan must also enhance its own industrial and technological capabilities and leverage its strategic resources to attract investment and foster collaborations with US corporations.
This approach should not only help Pakistan integrate into global supply chains but also position it as a reliable partner in critical sectors such as renewable energy, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing. By shifting focus towards building sustainable economic ties, Pakistan can pave the way for a more balanced and equitable relationship with the US, rooted in shared goals and mutual growth.
