LAHORE:Following swift action from Ombudsman of Punjab, a major public issue was resolved and a substantial sum of Rs13.5 million was allocated to complete the repair work in a graveyard located in Johar Town.

The amount has been used to establish an efficient drainage system, construct pathways, and ensure adequate lighting in the cemetery, effectively addressing the severe difficulties faced by the public.

According to details, the complainant M Musa expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of the cemetery and submitted a request to the Ombudsman Punjab, demanding immediate corrective measures. He also highlighted the illegal activities of the land mafia, which was involved in unauthorised construction and land encroachment. In response, the Ombudsman took swift action and directed the authorities concerned to address the issue.
