Beware of substandard salon packages!
Islamabad
With the Eid almost two weeks away, salons and small scale beauty parlours are set to have the most thriving business in coming days. With each day getting closer to the big day, ladies are determined to get their grooming in the most significant way and that too which doesn’t dent their pockets. With the escalating prices in each and every sector, after the annual budget, the owners and the parlour owners too have increased their services rates significantly because of the newly imposed taxes on beauty products. From last few years, trend has started to accommodate many services in a single package and then according to the affordability rates these packages are availed.
The names of the recognised salons never compromise on quality and their clients never budge to any other salon because they don’t want to experiment with their skin and looks, but the small parlours that have cropped up in every neighbourhood, use substandard products that can play havoc with the skin. They mostly use cheap products in preferable cheaper packages to attract more clients for their businesses. It’s been a norm in such parlours where ladies demand cheaper packages for more services, and then they are not satisfied with their results. There are many marketing tactics used by these salons to advertise in newspapers through flyers and almost daily these flyers are falling out from newspapers when it is held. Now the new trend has started on whats app and clients are lured into these parlours for lucrative services that are offered. It is strongly suggested that the clients should insist on checking the brand in front of the clients so that swapping it with cheap materials is not possible. Secondly, Eid is not the time to experiment with new products and facials, if an allergic reaction occurs a day or two before Eid, then the whole celebration of Eid will go down the drain. Skins react differently to each and every products and overuse of these chemicals can play havoc with the skin. The girls working in the parlours coax the clients to try out their new facials or the hair treatments because that would generate more business for their parlour without realising that more use of sub-standard products can do an irreparable loss to the skin. Women have all the right to look best on every occasion, especially on Eid Days but the selection of salon and its staff for your grooming can make or break your day. Beware of the unqualified staff and their use of products. More Professionalism is required in the salon business because they are directly dealing with your looks. Sanam one of the housewives shared her horrible experience with the scribe that in one of the parlours she went in, destroyed the quality of her hair in re-bonding and now she can’t do anything except for taking more and more hair treatments for her spoilt hair.
