‘Safe Ramazan, Safe Eid’ plan devised
LAHORE:In view of increased crowds in mosques and markets during the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramazan, Lahore Police has formulated a special security plan titled 'Safe Ramazan, Safe Eid.'
In this regard, a meeting was chaired by DIG Operations Faisal Kamran where the security arrangements were reviewed in detail and the SSP Operations and SP Security presented implementation reports. According to the DIG Operations, over 4,000 personnel and special squads have been deployed for security. He stated for Eid duty, six SPs, 22 SDPOs, 83 SHOs, 473 upper subordinates, 3,367 personnel, and 34 female officers have been assigned security duty. Additional personnel have been deployed at 65 major commercial centres for Eid shopping, while plainclothes officers have also increased their patrols. Strict action will be taken against harassment of women, and extra patrolling teams will be active during bank hours. Checkpoints have been established at 226 sensitive locations in the city. The Elite Force, Dolphin, and PRU teams have intensified patrolling on key roads. Surveillance is being carried out using drone cameras and night-vision binoculars.
