I wish to highlight a serious issue faced by pet owners in Malir Khokhrapar, Karachi — the lack of veterinary clinics and pet hospitals in our area. This absence of medical facilities for animals has resulted in heart-breaking losses, including my own. I lost my beloved cats to a viral infection simply because I could not find timely treatment for them. Pets are not just animals; they are like family. Their unconditional love and companionship bring joy and comfort to our lives.
Yet, when they fall sick, we are seemingly left helpless and forced to travel long distances to seek veterinary care — often when it is too late. I appeal to the authorities and private organisations to address this critical issue. Our area desperately needs veterinary clinics and pet hospitals to ensure that no more innocent lives are lost due to negligence. Animals, too, deserve care, compassion, and proper medical facilities. They should not suffer needlessly.
