Minister for increasing endowment fund amount
LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Sports, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar directed the officials concerned to formulate a strategy to increase the Endowment Fund amount from Rs2 billion to Rs4 billion. He issued these directions while presiding over a meeting at national Hockey Stadium.
The meeting was convened to discuss Sports Endowment Fund and other major sports events. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the Chief Minister Internship Programme. Key decisions were made regarding the future of sports in Punjab, with a strong emphasis on improving the welfare of athletes. Addressing the meeting, the minister said that the athletes are currently receiving monthly stipends in the Platinum, Diamond, and Gold categories, amounting to Rs70,000, Rs50,000, and Rs30,000 respectively under this fund.
