4 uplift schemes worth over Rs8bn approved

LAHORE:Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved four development schemes worth over Rs8 billion. The approval was made in the 69th meeting of the PDWP held on Tuesday. The meeting was presided over by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan.

The approved schemes included Construction of a Road from Chaal to Dholan Morr via Nonar Musalmania and Killa Ahmedabad (Phase I & Phase II), spanning 19km in District Narowal, at a cost of Rs1.048 million, Construction of the Building for Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering & Technology Multan, at a cost of Rs1.117 billion, Punjab Smog Mitigation and Response Initiative – Air Safe, at a cost of Rs5.381 billion and Supply and Installation of Postpaid AMR Water Meters in Sialkot & Sahiwal City – PICIIP 06, at a cost of Rs422.83 million.

PHA plants 4,000 shade trees saplings

Under the supervision of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), an event was organised under the Data Darbar Metro Bridge as part of the spring tree plantation campaign, aimed at increasing the green cover. A total of 4,000 shade trees, including Mulberry, Green, Black, and Yellow Ficus, were planted along the central median. The planting was carried out under the guidance of the Director of Horticulture PHA, Shah Nawaz Wattoo.

In this regard, the PHA DG, M Tahir Wattoo, stated that tree planting is being carried out along the greenbelts and central medians of various roads across the City as part of the campaign.
