Cisco to open support centre at education ministry
Islamabad:Leading American technology company Cisco Systems has agreed to support key IT initiatives by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training at Islamabad's public schools and colleges.
The agreement came as a ministry official met with Cisco Pakistan country manager Faheem Anwar in his office at Serena Business Complex here. Anwar said that as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Cisco Systems would establish the Academy Support Centre for the education ministry. The centre will offer unlimited course licences in AI, data science, cybersecurity and networking, covering all levels from beginner to expert.
Students from schools, colleges and universities across the country will have access to free, globally recognised Cisco certifications. The initiative is designed to equip students with essential digital skills, preparing them for the future, according to officials.
They expressed hope that the initiative would be a game-changer for the country's education system, helping bridge the digital divide and providing students with the skills required to excel in the increasingly digital world. The officials pointed out that the collaboration with Cisco Systems offered a significant opportunity for young learners to upskill and shape a tech-driven future.
