Thousands of PPP workers to attend Bhutto’s death anniversary event, says Ghani
Thousands of activists and loyalists of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will attend the forthcoming public meeting at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on April 4 to mark the death anniversary of PPP founder and former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, who is also the Karachi president of the PPP, said this on Sunday while chairing a meeting of the party’s Karachi chapter.
He told the participants of the meeting that a public meeting would be held at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on April 4, 2025, to mark the death anniversary of Bhutto with respect.
The local government minister was of the view that the democratic dispensation was revived in the country in the true sense by the late Bhutto, who was also the architect of Pakistan's nuclear power and a consensus constitution of the country.
Ghani said the public meeting on April 4 would be held at the ground adjacent to the mausoleum of Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bux. He added that caravans and motorcades of the PPP's workers and supporters from Karachi would leave for Garhi Khuda Bukhsh on April 2 and April 3.
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh PPP General Secretary Syed Waqar Mehdi said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari would make important announcements at the upcoming public meeting.
He said thousands of workers and supporters of the PPP from different districts of Sindh would reach Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to pay tribute to their martyred leader.
Karachi PPP General Secretary Jawed Nagori said the elected representatives, office-bearers, activists and supporters of the PPP in thousands would attend the April 4 public meeting from every district of the city. Reception and other committees have been formed by the Karachi PPP for coordination and monitoring of all affairs in this regard.
