The CM said: “For the first time in Islam, women were given unparalleled honour, respect, and rights”, citing the example of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and his eternal respect for women, particularly his daughter. She further stressed that equal opportunities in education, employment and development are essential for women’s progress.
Reflecting on her own role as the first female chief minister of Punjab, Maryam said, “I think of the success of every sister and daughter,” adding, “Educated and empowered women guarantee a bright and prosperous future.” She highlighted the significant representation of women in leadership roles, pointing out that the appointment of female officers across various divisions and districts of Punjab serves as a testament to the province’s commitment to women’s empowerment.

She reiterated, “Women and children are my ‘red line’; this is my vision,” making it clear that there is no tolerance for discrimination or injustice against women.
To further protect women, the CM highlighted the establishment of a virtual police station in Punjab and initiatives such as the Women’s Helpline and Panic Button Project, ensuring women’s safety. Additionally, a hostel for working women has been built within the Safe City Authority, with more planned for the future.
