LALAMUSA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former Chairman Municipal Committee Lalamusa Chaudhry Nadeem Asghar Kaira emphasised his party’s unwavering commitment to upholding the Constitution, reforming institutions and fostering national reconciliation.

Speaking to media, he highlighted the PPP’s dedication to democratic values and its efforts to discourage baseless allegations in the political landscape. Kaira stated that had the PPP been in power at the federal level, it would have prioritised national unity by bringing all political parties together on a single platform. He asserted that such an approach would have ensured the country’s progress and stability.

However, recognising the public mandate, the PPP chose to support the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) in forming the government to sustain democracy in the country. “We stand firm in our stance that no government action should negatively impact the lives of the people. Our primary objective is to protect democracy and the rights of citizens,” Kaira said.

He reiterated that the PPP’s decision to support the ruling party was driven by the need for political continuity and national stability, rather than personal or party interests. Acknowledging the sacrifices made by the PPP leadership, Kaira paid tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
