ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has sought a comprehensive performance report from the government ahead of his address to the joint session of Parliament, scheduled for March 10.

The address will mark the commencement of the second parliamentary year.

The decision to convene the joint session aligns with Article 56(3) of the Constitution, which mandates that the President address a joint session at the start of each parliamentary year.

The session will also provide an opportunity for the President to outline the government’s achievements and set the tone for the upcoming year.

Sources revealed that President Zardari’s speech will highlight the key accomplishments of the government over the past year, with a particular focus on economic policies and their impact.
