29 accused granted bail in Nov 26 protest cases
Court grants bail to 17 out of 37 accused from Rawalpindi, while the applications of 20 could not be decided
RAWALPINDI: Special Anti-Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi has granted bail to 29 accused arrested in the cases related to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) November 26 Islamabad protest.
Applications of 20 could not be decided. After hearing the bail applications of the above accused, the Rawalpindi High Court bench remanded these applications and ordered the ATC to rehear them. On Friday, during the hearing of the bail applications of 51 accused, Prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah appeared on behalf of the prosecution. After hearing arguments of the lawyers of the parties, the court rejected the bail applications of 2 out of 14 accused from Attock while granted bail to 12. The court also granted bail to 17 out of 37 accused from Rawalpindi, while the applications of 20 could not be decided.
