Bunkers mystery

Heavy bunkers have played a key role in exacerbating the violence in Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past few months. Demolishing these bunkers is one of the key conditions of the January peace agreement and is seen as crucial to restoring peace and stability to the area.

One must ask how a noisy and noticeable activity like bunker construction could proceed under the nose of various law-enforcement agencies for so long? How did no one notice the movement of tons of stone, concrete and other materials needed to build these bunkers? And, if it was noticed, why did no one move to stop their construction?
