Protest against anti-education policies held
Islamabad: Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations (FAPUASA) in collaboration with All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA) staged protest in front of Parliament House here Thursday.
They were demanding urgent action on critical issues affecting university teachers and other public sector teaching community. A large number of university professors, lecturers, and academic staff from across the country joined the demonstration raising voice for their demands/
The demands include restoration of the Tax Rebate for teachers and researchers. long awaited TTS salary raise for all cadres, reversal of what APUASA says anti-education policies of the Federal and provincial governments, restoration of Leave Encashment, reinstatement of old pension benefits and revision of BPS service structure.
In a statement, FAPUASA said that despite the overwhelming participation and peaceful demonstration, the government has yet to take meaningful steps to address these pressing concerns.
