Shangla Press Club office-bearers take oath
ALPURI: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Amir Muqam, on Tuesday administered the oath to the newly-elected cabinet of the Shangla Press Club.
The ceremony took place at his office in Islamabad, where he acknowledged the crucial role of journalism in democratic stability and societal development.The federal minister praised journalists for acting as a bridge between the public and the authorities. He emphasized the importance of free and responsible journalism in highlighting public issues and ensuring accountability.
As a gesture of support for the local press, Amir Muqam announced special grants for Shangla Press Club Alpuri, as well as Tehsil Press Clubs in Puran, Bisham, Chakesar, and Shahpur. He assured that the federal government was committed to resolving the challenges faced by journalists and will take all necessary steps to promote press freedom.Congratulating the newly elected office bearers, the minister expressed hope that they would uphold journalistic ethics and effectively raise public concerns.
