16,290 POs arrested
LAHORE:Punjab Police Friday claimed to have arrested some 16,290 proclaimed offenders (POs) from across the province, including Lahore, since the start of 2025. The police have also rounded up 6,690 judicial absconders, 3,820 habitual criminals and detained six POs who were brought to Pakistan from abroad. Meanwhile, services of SP M Imran have been handed over to Home Dept.
Funds for injured cops
The Punjab Police released funds for the treatment of injured cops on Friday. According to Punjab Police spokesperson, injured Constable Azmat Ali has been given Rs1.5million for medical expenses, Rs1million each for wounded ASI Muhammad Asim and ASI Nasir Bajwa, Rs350,000 for injured Constable Taimoor Riaz, and Rs100,000 each for Head Constable Salamat Ali and Constable Muhammad Maqsood.

The CCPO Friday chaired a crime review meeting. The CCPO reviewed an aggressive strategy to combat drug trafficking, street crimes and hazardous kite-flying activities across the provincial capital.
