LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met with MPAs from Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara and Pakpattan districts on Wednesday.
Addressing the assembly members, Nawaz Sharif said, “Economic decline has turned into progress. Improvements in economic indicators signify the revival of Pakistan. By strengthening the economy, we are once again putting Pakistan on the path to progress and prosperity.”
He said, “Economic activities are gaining momentum with reduction in policy rate from 22 to 12 percent, stabilising the rupee and spurring growth. The stock exchange has reached its highest level, inflation is decreasing and economic stability is improving. A person who came to power through fraudulent means destabilised the country, but we made heartfelt sacrifices for Pakistan and will not hesitate to do so again.”
Nawaz Sharif said, “Shehbaz Sharif’s relentless efforts are yielding results, with even the IMF acknowledging Pakistan’s economic turnaround. Punjab’s joy and prosperity are being restored. We thank Allah Almighty for guiding Pakistan out of its economic crisis. The PMLN has once again demonstrated its commitment to the nation by not only serving it wholeheartedly but also providing significant relief to the masses.”
The assembly members expressed pride in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif who, they said, have endured political challenges while prioritising the state’s interests. They called Nawaz Sharif a symbol of Pakistan’s development and prosperity, emphasizing his role in rebuilding the nation.
They also praised CM Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, saying that her tireless efforts had reinvigorated previously dormant departments and set new standards for development.
Maryam Nawaz, while addressing the gathering, said, “Improving the lives of people is the reward for our hard work. Nawaz Sharif is the symbol of Pakistan’s development and our identity.” The meeting also discussed public welfare projects and future political strategies. Senior party leaders Senator Pervez Rashid, Rana Sanaullah, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Rashid Nasrullah were present, along with MPAs and notable figures from various districts. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited Lahore’s first integrated development pilot project under the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) in Gulberg Scheme Block 3. She reviewed the Gulberg Sustainable Development Model Project and inspected the ongoing development work.
